General Question - Exam Preparation

Good Afternoon Professor,

If I'm not mistaken, in one of the first classes of the second term, you mentioned some useful tips to better prepare for the exam.

One was about using AI to create questions on which to exercise. How do you recommend doing it? Do you have a specific method you suggest using in order to receive back useful exercises and not off-topic ones?

The second one was about the forum. I remember you pointing out that many common mistakes in the midterm could have been avoided if people had looked at the forum. Plus, if I understood correctly, you said you pinned or highlighted in the forum some common questions from students that could have benefited many on the exam. Did I understand correctly or not?

Best Regards,

Good afternoon,

Correct. If you ran out of exercises to practice, or there is one exercise that you are unsure whether you have completely understood, you can add to chatGPT the exercise (with or without solutions) and then ask chatGPT to create an exercise very similar to that, something like:

"Create an exercise very similar to the one attached for a master student"

Issue: ChatGPT is not amazing at creating solutions, so if you doubt, you can compare with colleagues, or you can always ask me any questions.

I recommend reading the forum because most questions, as you said, would have avoided issues in the exam. However, I do not pin any question because ex-ante I do not know which misunderstanding will be more likely to be a common one
