- Does Wiseflow prevent cheating for remote exams? It helps, but not at the ideal level. Wiseflow is mostly designed to simply replace paper by a digital version of the exam, but cheating and misconduct needs to be controlled by the traditional in-classroom procedures with invigilators. Nonetheless, it can be used for home exams as well. The lockdown browser might still contribute to minimize cheating and there is an optional proctoring system that takes pictures of the students frequently during the exam to flag students for some misconduct, but it does not prevent that students will do exams together, or talk via phone, or access other information via other computers. - How do we prevent students to not copy from the computer/student next to him/her? There will be physical distancing as in a traditional exam and the invigilators will play their usual role in monitoring the students in classroom. Also, we are analyzing the option of having privacy filters for the monitors. - Can a student do the exam at home while others are in-classroom without the knowledge of the professor? No. The link to the exam is accessible from any computer anywhere, but for entering and submitting the exam two passwords are needed. (1) There is a student password that is communicated to students in-classroom. This password is set by the professor and can be unique for each exam. (2) There is an invigilator password that is required for submitting the exam and that is not communicated to students. If a student in-classroom shares the student password with someone at home (e.g. via text message), the student at home might be able to open the exam, but will not be able to submit it. |
