Dear students,
We hope this message finds you well :)
The grades for Individual Assignment 3 (IA3)-“Go read” are now available on Moodle. Congratulations on the quality of your submissions—many of you delivered excellent work, and the overall standard of analysis, application, and reflection was remarkably high.
Let us take this opportunity to clarify how the essays were graded and what distinguishes top-performing submissions.
Grading Criteria & Weights (Total: 20 points):
• Understanding of the Article (5 pts) – grasp of core concepts and arguments
• Critical Analysis (5 pts) – ability to question, critique, or expand on the article
• Application to Practice (5 pts) – relevance and quality of examples to line of argumentation
• Structure & Referencing (1 pt) – coherence, clarity, correct citation and format
• Originality & Reflection (4 pts) – personal insight, ethical awareness, and creative contribution
While many students received high marks (including a number of 20/20s), we want to emphasise that even the lowest-scoring essays still performed at a good level. The main differences between the highest and lowest essays often came down to:
• Depth of critical thinking and originality
• Sophistication of theoretical integration
• Relevance, variety, and specificity of real-world examples
• Clarity, structure, and academic tone
What Comes Next: Group Report assignment
The next challenge is your Group Report and Presentation, which represents a significant portion of your final grade. Given the strong level of work you’ve shown so far, you’re expected to raise the bar even further.
This final project is your chance to:
• Apply the full range of persuasion and negotiation knowledge explored in class
• Collaborate strategically as a team
• Revisit key concepts and engage in peer learning
• Deliver a well-reasoned, evidence-based argument in a professional format
Please don’t leave this to the last minute. Start early, discuss ideas with your peers, and use this opportunity to consolidate your learning and prepare yourself to the final exam.
We believe that many of you have the potential to become great negotiators—not just in theory, but in practice. Keep pushing yourselves and each other. You’re doing excellent work, and we look forward to seeing what you deliver next.
Warm regards,
P&N Team
