Dear students

As promised, here are the topics that will be covered by the first test (Mid-term) to direct your studies.

Topics from class 2 – WATER – General concepts

Topics from class 3 – WATER – The urban water cycle

Access to drinking water and sanitation. Water capitation. Water circular economy. Water use. Virtual water. (specific slides 8-12, 27-37, 45-48, 71-78 – numbers are slide pages in PDF and not the numbers in the slides).

 

Topics from class 4 – EARTH – Waste

Concepts of: waste, municipal waste, waste management, waste hierarchy, economic instruments related with waste management, Extended Producer Responsibility.

 

Topics from class 5 – AIR – Air quality

Topics from class 6 – AIR – Climate change

Describe the greenhouse effect and why it is being exacerbated. What are the main greenhouse gas emissions, and what is their role in global warming?  Who have been the main emitters and the main causes? Tell stories about evidence of climate change. Know the concept of Drawdown. Identify and assess the relevance of multiple sectors' solutions.

 

There is no minimum grade in each of the components of the evaluation, including the two tests. The final grade will be the just the weighting of all the components of the evaluation as stated from the first class and present in the introductory slides in moodle.

The test is CLOSED BOOK and you need a computer with internet connection were you should be able to use moodle. You are not allowed to leave the browser within the class moodle page during the test. The test consists of 30 multiple choice questions with four options each, where only one is the fully correct one. The total time for the test is 60 minutes. There is no time limit for each question – only the overall time counts. THERE IS NO CHANCE TO GO BACK AFTER ANSWERING A QUESTION. At the end you should submit the test (there will be a question to confirm this).
