The module contains an introduction to the topic, where possible implications of AI for today and future society are briefly introduced, on which students are encouraged to reflect and discuss. We will present key concepts in Responsible AI, such as Accountability, Transparency, Inclusiveness, and Fairness, and a brief overview of the European Union's recent legislation (the EU AI Act). We are also going to discuss AI-gone-wrong examples, reflecting on ways to prevent or remedy such examples. Finally, you will learn about the common sources of algorithmic bias and, through a more hands-on component, how to audit bias on a machine-learning model.
