  • Class 1 | Communication: The Big Picture

    Why are we here?

This first class is the kick-off for your self-knowledge journey and, consequently, personal development.

For each and every class bring an open and curious mind and, above all, participate! Bring your own life experiences and you will see that this sharing will not only make the sessions richer, but it will also help you grow much more easily.

Our classes are a safe space for learning and experimentation, so make the most of them!

    Let's go!
To set the tone we leave you here two interesting videos on the topic of the first class.

For this reason, don't forget to bring to class your updated CV and the description of a job you would like to apply to. If you find it difficult to find one, you have here a folder with some possible job descriptions.
If you want to receive feedback about your CV, you can always ask us and we will schedule an appointment with you during office hours. You can also reach Career Services from Nova SBE, who might provide you with additional feedback.

Here's a video with a very interesting perspective on vulnerability and authenticitythe starting point for developing your personal brand!

  • Class 4 | The Power of Stories & Feedback

Storytelling and how good feedback is the key to growth.

The fourth class is about storytelling and feedback!

Do you know how to tell a story persuasively? We will give you tools that you can implement whenever writing a public speech! You find below a framework for public speaking called Cicero. We invite you to watch the following video, which shows Cicero's creators presenting the product they have launched using the framework.

Video #4: Andrea Binasco and Matteo di Pascale - Cicero Public Speaking Cards

Furthermore, did you know that the best gift you can give to someone's development is constructive and sustained feedback?
During the day we are constantly giving and receiving feedback from each other. In this class, we will explore this topic and understand how we can become better at giving and receiving feedback.

Ready to see the fourth chapter of your eJournal?
The fourth part of the eJournal referring to class 4 is also available here. There you can find the instructions and the evaluation criteria for the Individual Presentation of the next classPrepare yourself! You have there also an optional assignment where you can structure your script using the Cicero framework.

  • Class 5 | Individual Presentations - Human Communication

How do we keep communication human?

Our fifth class is the class where you are going to shine! It is the time for the individual presentations
If you need to, please upload your visual aids here on Moodle, so your professors have them on the computer when you are going to present.

Our last classes will be focused on the topic of leadership - the essential pillar for an organization's survival!
As such, we invite you to watch the video below hoping to plant the seed of leadership and to inspire you.

Video #5: Lars Sudmann - Great leadership starts with self-leadership

Thus, this C&L journey will end with a group presentation - LEADERSHIP VOICES - which you will prepare with your classmates in the sixth class. You can find below the composition of your group!

Ready to see the fifth chapter of your eJournal?

  • Class 6 | Preparation

    Are you ready?

An important takeaway from this course is that you should always prepare your speeches or presentations. Therefore, this class is going to prepare you for your Group Presentations applying the tools that you have learnt in class 4.

Make sure you read eJournals 4 and 5 and that you meet with your group at least once before this class.

We would like to invite you to watch the following video where you can observe the importance of incorporating constructive feedback and preparing your presentations. Notice the difference that preparation made in the quality of Ranjit's presentation.

Video #6: The Importance of Preparation on Presentation Quality

It is the time for you to try it! Ask for feedback on your initial ideas, improve and prepare for the Group Presentation. Good luck!

    • Class 7 | Group Presentations - Leadership Voices

What topic struck you the most in this course?

It may seem that this journey has come to an end because we have reached our seventh and last class... but NO! We like to look at this last class as the end of an individual and collective awareness stage and the beginning of a new personal journey. A new, more aware, improved and better version of yourself, which requires that you continue to invest in your self-knowledge journey throughout life! Only by leading ourselves first, will we be able to lead others effectively and positively.

And for that reason, we invite you to watch the video below to inspire you to continue with the right mindset for the rest of your life!

Video #7: Steve Harvey - Last message

We wish you the best and, for the foreseeable future, good luck for your group presentation!

Count on us to help with your preparation by giving you feedback before the final class!
