- Is internet needed for the exam?
Yes, at least for opening and submitting the exam.
- What happens if the student disconnects during the exam?
The exam continues, it is still open in the student’s computer, even if he/she is offline. There is no need to quit/reopen the exam. If internet eventually comes back during the exam period, everything ends up being normal. If the computer does not connect again to the internet, the student needs to save a local copy in the computer before leaving the exam. Once the copy is saved, the student might leave the lockdown browser and immediately after needs to connect again to the internet. Then, the local offline copy can be uploaded on Wiseflow even after the exam period ends, with the support of the invigilator/professor.
It is recommended that students doing the exam during an offline period save their progress frequently – there is an option to save an offline copy of their answers in Wiseflow specific format.
- What happens if the computer crashes during the exam?
As long as the computer is connected to the internet, the computer continuously save online copies on the server. This means that if the computer crashes, the student might get back to where he/she was before the crash. Then, the student just needs to get back on the exam in the lockdown browser once the computer is fixed. If the computer is not fixed quickly, the student might use a backup computer (e.g. one of computers available at the computer rooms) and continue his/her exam from the latest saved version on the server.
