Dear Students
This Wednesday we will have your 8 minutes maximum presentations of your group work. There are 16 groups, which means 128 minutes of presentations for a 170 minute class. We have created a submission area on Moodle for you to upload the presentations until noon on May 7th (12 pm, 07/05/2025), so that we can download all PPTs (preferably) or PDFs and have them ready on the computer that is going to be projecting the presentations. There is a sequence/schedule of presentations in a document in attachment to this email and in Moodle (we are given 2 extra minutes for starting and exiting of each group).
On grading, the content and structure (from index, to details and conclusion), the organization and clarity of the slides and the communication skills of the group work will be considered, with no penalty to the group if only part of the group participates in the presentation. However, on the usual individual assignment, from 0 to 5, a penalty of 2 will be issued if you do not stay for all class as a matter of respect to your colleagues and an opportunity to learn from their work. A penalty of 2 will be issued if you do not participate in your group’s oral presentation. If you were not present in class, of course the final grade will be zero. Remember, the rules concerning these assignments: 10% of final/total - 75% of the best grades of simple individual assignments delivered at each class = best 9 assignments out of 12
On the tools to use within your group work, we suggest you look at environmental impact analysis (the most relevant and related with your acquired knowledge throughout the course), and sustainability impact assessment.
Best regards,
Francisco Ferreira
