Dear all,
You should prepare both a presentation and a report. The key points about the case you should keep in mind are:
(i) Focus on a single episode in the case at hand in a self-contained and clear way. The goal is not to tell the whole story of a single country but to aim at a single event. Also, do not waste words with extensive non-economic descriptions of what happened;
(ii) Provide a rigorous macroeconomic analysis based on economic intuition and concepts discussed in class. Empirical analysis (descriptive statistics and graphs, NOT regressions) is a valuable input.
(iii) Presentation: Takes no longer than 20 minutes. Should follow a clear story line and puts forward main conclusions; Able to respond to all the questions that follow.
(iv) Report: Max 20 pages including figures and tables.
Tables and pictures should NOT be attached but rather in the body of the report. Do not use annexes! Other Formatting rules: font Times New Roman, size 12, spacing 1.5; Good usage of the English language is expected, with minor typos and grammar incorrections.
Once again, for those that have Harvard cases, you can find the download link on Moodle’s assessment page.
