Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How does it work?

A: You will have an average group grade for the presentation (CW1) and written report (CW2). This will not be your final grade for these two components. Instead, your final individual grade for the presentation and report will also take into account the peer assessment component. If your peer assessment grade is the average (e.g. 10 units), then your final individual grade for the presentation and report will be the same as the group grade. If your individual peer assessment grade is below or above average, i.e., 10, then your final individual grade for presentation and report will be below or above the group grade,
knowing that your grade after peer assessment corresponds to 50% of your final group work, and the other 50% is your original group grade.

Example:

Peer assessment for each group member for :
Member 1 = 10
Member 2 =   9
Member 3 = 11
Member 4 = 10
Member 5 = 10

Group grade for presentation (CW1) = 15
Group grade for the written report (CW2) = 17
The individual grade of each student needs to take into account both, the group grade and its own peer-assessed grade and will be like this:

Q: A group member could not agree on the points distribution. What to do?

A: If the group is unable to reach an agreement then you can book a meeting with the professors. If you are still unable to reach an agreement after the meeting, then a majority vote decision will be made.

Q: Is it possible to distribute points with decimals among peers?

E.g.:
Group Member X:  9,5
Group Member P: 10,5
Group Member T:  9,3
Group Member O: 10,7

A: Yes, you could distribute your points with decimals, only your final grade for the course will be rounded.

Q: My group has 4 members, not 5. How many points should we distribute?

A: You should distribute 10 x Nr. of members in your group.
> E.g.:
> Group with 4 members:  40 points
> Group with 5 members:  50 points
> Group with 6 members:  60 points

Q: Does the peer assessment need to be submitted as a merge of 4
documents, each one including each member’s evaluation of the other colleagues? Or is it required one single document with the agreed peer evaluations from all members?

A: You need to submit one single document signed by all the group members. Also, you can use digital signatures.
